This 44-week Middle Distance Triathlon training plan is built to prepare you for the unique, fast, and flat course of Vieux Boucau—from the calm, saltwater swim in the sheltered marine lake, to the aero-friendly bike through pine forests, to the energetic four-lap run lined with cheering spectators. Every session is designed to match the race’s specific demands so you arrive confident, prepared, and ready to perform.

✅ 12-Week Base Phase – Build rock-solid aerobic endurance with no prior mileage required, developing the stamina needed for the 1.9 km swim, 90 km bike, and 21 km run.
✅ 32-Week Race-Specific Phase – Structured 3:1 training cycles (three build weeks, one recovery week) that peak at 14 training hours/week, perfect for sustaining speed on flat terrain while sharpening race-day efficiency.
✅ Swim Focused for Flat-Water Speed – Technique, pacing, and open-water skills tailored for the calm but continuous effort required in the marine lake.
✅ Bike Power for Steady-State Effort – Interval training and strength sessions designed for long stretches in the aero position, maintaining power on fast, flat roads with minimal elevation change.
✅ Run Endurance with Lap Consistency – Strategies for sustaining pace and managing energy over four spectator-packed laps, ensuring you finish strong in the village center.
✅ Integrated Strength & Conditioning – Functional and conventional strength progressions to improve power output and injury resilience.
✅ Progress Tracking with B & C Races – Use strategically placed events to sharpen race skills and assess fitness before your main event.
