The Middle Distance Triathlon Sanremo offers a breathtaking but challenging course—calm Ligurian Sea waters, a 17 km climb to Passo Ghimbegna, and a fast, flat coastal run. This 36-week triathlon training plan is designed to prepare senior triathletes aged 60+ for every element of race day while respecting age-specific recovery needs.

🏊 Swim Readiness – The plan’s early swim drills and endurance sets build comfort in open water, improve sighting, and strengthen your stroke—vital for navigating Sanremo’s clear but salty Ligurian Sea in a single, 1.9 km loop.

🚴 Climb & Descent Conditioning – Progressive hill repeats and sustained power intervals mirror the 1,500 m elevation gain to Passo Ghimbegna. Technical bike handling sessions prepare you for the thrilling descent through Poggio di Sanremo’s sharp turns—just like the pros in Milano–Sanremo.
