The Middle Distance Triathlon in Sanremo isn’t just a race — it’s a journey along one of the most breathtaking courses in the world. You’ll start in the sparkling Ligurian Sea, ride through charming coastal towns before tackling the epic climb to Passo Ghimbegna, and finish with a fast, scenic run along the Mediterranean. For a first-time triathlete, this can feel both exciting and intimidating — and that’s exactly why this plan exists.

Over 36 weeks, we’ll guide you step-by-step from your very first training session to crossing that Sanremo finish line with pride. No previous race experience or high mileage is required — just the willingness to commit and discover what you’re capable of.

The first 12 weeks gently build your endurance and fitness, while introducing you to open-water skills that will make the Ligurian Sea feel like home. Clear video swim drills, low-pressure workouts, and confidence-boosting sessions ensure you’re ready for the single-loop swim start.

The next 24 weeks prepare you for the defining parts of the Sanremo course — the steady 17 km climb to Passo Ghimbegna and the thrilling descent into town. Cycling workouts build both climbing strength and handling skills, so you can ride with control and enjoy the scenery.
