Sanremo’s Middle Distance Triathlon is more than a race—it’s a test of precision, endurance, and race-day execution. Our 24-week Intermediate Middle Distance Triathlon Training Plan is engineered to prepare you for the unique demands of this stunning yet challenging course, from the Ligurian Sea swim to the legendary Poggio di Sanremo descent.

🏅 Course-Specific Preparation – Your training mirrors the demands of Sanremo’s 1.9 km open-water swim, teaching you to handle salty, calm seas and sight efficiently for each buoy. Expect targeted open-water sessions that simulate race-day conditions, ensuring a confident start.

🚵 Climb & Descend Like a Pro – The 90 km bike leg’s defining feature is the 17 km climb to Passo Ghimbegna (~1,500 m gain). We build your climbing strength and endurance with progressive interval repeats, sustained threshold efforts, and power-based training. Technical descent drills sharpen handling skills so you can descend through Bajardo, Ceriana, and Poggio with speed and control.

🏃 Fast, Controlled Running – Sanremo’s 21.1 km run along the coastline demands steady pacing and mental focus. Our plan integrates race-pace intervals, and brick workouts that teach you to run strong after a demanding bike.
