With its calm lake swim, flat and fast bike leg, and scenic city-center run, it’s beginner-friendly yet still demands smart, structured preparation. This six-month plan is designed to guide you step-by-step so you arrive at the start line confident and ready.
✅ Smooth Swim Confidence: The Weerwater’s single-lap swim is sheltered and straightforward—perfect for your first open-water race. You’ll build swim endurance gradually, learn sighting skills, and practice drills with video guidance to make your swim more efficient and less tiring.
✅ Bike Strength for Steady Speed: The 94 km bike course is flat, but the open countryside can be windy. Your training will help you ride comfortably in a steady gear, manage your effort, and maintain speed without exhausting yourself before the run.
✅ Run Endurance You Can Rely On: The run route is flat and scenic, looping around the lake and through Almere’s city center. Training focuses on pacing, building endurance, and running strong off the bike so you can enjoy the final stretch to the finish.
