The Almere-Amsterdam Middle Distance Triathlon delivers a fast but deceptively challenging race. A calm, counterclockwise swim in Weerwater lake rewards efficient sighting. The 94 km bike course—flat, below sea level, and fully exposed—demands sustained power and resilience in shifting winds. The run, looping around the Weerwater and through the city center, is flat yet mentally testing as you hold pace over repetitive laps.

This triathlon training plan is engineered for Masters athletes 40+ to meet the specific demands of this course—preparing you for every turn, gust, and stride with a progressive, data-driven approach.
