Plan Description

This 44-week Middle Distance Triathlon training plan is meticulously designed to prepare you for the unique challenges of the Middle Distance Triathlon Fortaleza Brazil course, helping you perform at your best from start to finish.

The race begins with a 1.9 km swim in calm, warm waters along Praia de Iracema. Our training plan’s early 12-week base phase emphasizes swim technique and endurance, building your confidence and efficiency in the water. You'll learn to navigate open water conditions similar to Fortaleza’s scenic coastline, setting a strong foundation for race day.

Transitioning to the bike, the course is a fast, flat 90 km route along smooth, ocean-view roads—perfect for personal bests. This plan incorporates structured RPE (rate of perceived effort) and heart rate bike sessions combined with strength training to develop the power and stamina you need to maintain a strong, steady pace throughout this demanding yet fast segment.

The final 21.1 km run takes place on a flat, multi-lap beachfront course. Our run sessions, guided by RPE and heart rate zones, build your endurance and speed, perfectly matching the demands of this flat, crowd-energized course. You’ll be ready to finish strong, supported by the energy of enthusiastic local spectators.
