The swim covers 1.9 km in the sheltered waters of Sandefjordsfjorden with a strategic Australian exit, requiring strong endurance and pacing under rolling start conditions. Our comprehensive Middle Distance Triathlon training plan develops your swim efficiency and builds confidence to handle water temperatures between 18-20°C with ease.

The 90 km bike segment features two laps through scenic Norwegian countryside with rolling terrain, curves, and long flat stretches. Our plan’s progressive cycling workouts improve your power, endurance, and handling skills for this challenging course. Training includes targeted sessions for sustained efforts, hill repeats, and race-pace intervals preparing you for the rolling hills and historical landmarks along the way, ensuring you maintain speed and control on open roads with traffic.

For the 21.1 km run, consisting of four laps through Sandefjord’s flat city center finishing at the iconic Whalers’ Monument, the plan integrates run endurance and speed workouts. Repeated lap runs during training mimic the course layout, helping you develop pacing strategies and mental toughness for multiple loops and race-day nutrition management.
