The Intermediate 36-Week Middle Distance Triathlon Training Plan is expertly built to prepare you for the unique challenges of the Kaiserwinkl-Walchsee Middle Distance Triathlon in Austria. With its crystal-clear swim, hilly technical bike, and scenic but deceptively undulating run, this course rewards athletes who arrive well-prepared—physically and mentally.

✔ Focused swim sessions develop strength, technique, and confidence in open water—ideal for the 1.9 km triangle-shaped loop in Lake Walchsee
✔ Introduces race-pace intervals and sighting drills to simulate race conditions and keep you on course

🚴 Bike Training for the Alps
✔ Two full laps through the Kaiserwinkl’s hilly, narrow, and technical terrain? You’ll be ready.
✔ Specific hill repeat sessions and tempo rides help you handle 1,100–1,200 meters of elevation gain with power and efficiency
✔ Skills-based workouts prepare you for twisty descents and tight turns, so you stay in control and gain time
