Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Austrian Alps, the Middle Distance Triathlon Kaiserwinkl-Walchsee is as demanding as it is beautiful. This six-month Triathlon Training Plan, built specifically for Masters athletes over 40, is designed to prepare you for every twist, climb, and stride of this iconic course—with structure, precision, and purpose.

🏊 Swim-Ready for Lake Walchsee
The race begins with a one-lap swim in crystal-clear, drinking-quality water. This plan includes structured swim sessions and video drills to help you build endurance, refine technique, and stay calm and efficient in open water.

🚴 Climb-Strong for 1,100+ Meters of Elevation Gain
The bike course includes two 45 km loops through narrow, undulating, and technical roads. Your training will include power- and heart-rate-based intervals designed to strengthen climbing ability, handling skills, and endurance over long, steady efforts—just what’s needed for the Kaiserwinkl terrain.

🏃 Run-Prepared for Varied Terrain Around the Lake
The four-lap run course may be “quite flat,” but its rolling terrain and short hills demand resilience and pacing strategy. This plan builds leg strength and race-day durability through tempo runs, bricks, and threshold intervals.
