The unique course at the Middle Distance Triathlon in St. Pölten, Austria, demands a thoughtfully structured plan—and this six-month beginner training plan delivers exactly that.

From the moment you dive into the calm waters of Viehofner See and transition to Ratzersdorfer See, this plan prepares you for the split-swim format with targeted open-water swim workouts, video-based drills, and endurance-building sessions. You'll develop confidence in pacing, sighting, and efficient transitions—essential for navigating the short land crossing between the lakes.

Once on the bike, the training plan’s progressive interval rides and strength-building sessions get you ready for the 90 km course. With a section on a closed motorway and nearly 1,000 meters of elevation gain through the Lower Austrian Alps, the ride is both fast and challenging. Structured bike workouts focus on both climbing power and sustainable speed—so you’re prepared to handle the hills and fly on the descents.

The flat and fast run along the scenic Traisen River calls for durability and control.
