The Intermediate 36-Week Middle Distance Triathlon Training Plan is specifically designed to prepare competitive age-groupers like you for the unique demands of the Middle Distance Triathlon in Cesenatico, Italy. With its open water beach swim, scenic but technical bike climbs, and flat, fast run along the Adriatic coastline, this course rewards athletes who arrive strong, efficient, and race-ready.

✅ Tailored for the Cesenatico Swim (1.9 km)
Open water swim sessions simulate the beach start and surf conditions of Cesenatico. Early emphasis on technique and form builds confidence, while later tempo and interval sets prepare you for a fast, single-loop effort.

✅ Engineered for the Hilly Romagna Bike Course (90 km)
The 24-week specific phase includes progressive long rides, hill-specific intervals, and power-based workouts designed to mirror the 900m elevation gain over the 40 km hilly section. You'll build climbing strength, pacing strategy, and descending confidence—key to mastering this technical, picturesque bike leg.

✅ Built for Speed on the Waterfront Run (21 km)
The final run is flat and fast. Your plan includes race-pace intervals, tempo sessions, and brick workouts to improve your ability to hold form and speed off the bike. Multi-lap strategies and mental pacing are practiced to match the Cesenatico waterfront course design.
