The Middle Distance Triathlon Taiwan course offers an incredible challenge, and this 44-week Half Distance Triathlon training plan is designed especially for beginner triathletes ready to take that exciting step forward. Whether it’s your first time tackling a half distance or you’re building confidence for race day, this plan prepares you to swim, bike, and run with strength and ease.

Starting with a focused 12-week base phase, you’ll develop the essential strength, endurance, and swim technique needed to handle the calm, clear waters of Flowing Lake. The gentle, one-lap swim course is perfect for beginners, and the training plan will help you feel comfortable and powerful from the very start.

The 90 km bike course follows the beautiful Pacific Coastal Highway with rolling hills and ocean views. Through heart rate and effort-based bike sessions, this plan gradually builds your cycling stamina and rhythm, helping you ride confidently over varied terrain and prepare for any coastal winds you may encounter.

The run portion covers 21.1 km through Taitung city and Seashore Park, combining paved roads and shaded trails. Your training includes guided run and jog workouts designed to steadily build your endurance and keep you feeling strong and motivated. Strength sessions specifically crafted for beginners add another layer of support, reducing injury risk and boosting overall fitness.
