Designed for experienced amateur triathletes, this plan is your roadmap to excelling at the Half Distance Triathlon in Taiwan. From the crystal-clear waters of Flowing Lake to the sweeping coastal views and shaded forest paths, our structured 36-week program ensures you're ready for every challenge this race presents.
🌊 Swim – 1.9 KM at Flowing Lake
Our swim training blocks develop both technique and endurance in calm, non-tidal waters. You'll build confidence through structured drills and open water simulation sets—ideal preparation for the one-lap, clockwise course that hugs the shoreline. Expect to hit the start line with power and control.
🚴 Bike – 90 KM on Pacific Coastal Highway
The course features a mix of flat and rolling terrain alongside ocean breezes. Our plan includes:
✅ Climbing acceleration intervals for steady elevation changes
✅ Power sprint and VO₂ max sessions for handling wind and maximizing straightaways
✅ Long endurance rides that mirror the race's rhythm and scenic flow
🏃 Run – 21.1 KM through Taitung’s Urban and Natural Trails
With a two-lap course blending paved paths and shaded trails, you’ll need resilience and pacing. Our run workouts build aerobic capacity and sharpen threshold performance with:
✅ Anaerobic threshold runs for mid-race strength
✅ ATP-PC sprint intervals for strong race finishes
✅ Brick workouts to perfect the bike-to-run transition
🏋️♂️ Strength and Recovery Built-In
Start with functional strength development before progressing to race-specific endurance. Every 4th week is a recovery phase to prevent burnout and support long-term gains.
