The Intermediate 24-Week Half Distance Triathlon Training Plan is built to prepare you for one of the most scenic and challenging races on the global triathlon calendar—the Half Distance Triathlon in Wānaka, New Zealand. Whether you're chasing an Age Group podium or simply aiming to race strong, this plan ensures you arrive confident, race-ready, and conditioned for every element of the course.

Wānaka’s 1.9 km lake swim in Roys Bay demands open water confidence in 15°C waters. Our plan includes video-supported swim drills and open water simulation sessions to build technique, endurance, and cold-water tolerance.

With punchy climbs and rolling terrain on the 90 km bike route to Treble Cone, you'll need more than just endurance. Our Heart Rate and Power-based cycling workouts target climbing power and smooth cadence control—ideal for Wānaka’s undulating route and exposed winds.
