Our 44-week advanced Half Distance Triathlon training plan is meticulously crafted to prepare you for every unique element of this epic race—from the calm Arabian Gulf swim to the scenic yet punchy climbs on the bike, and the energy-filled loops of the coastal run.

Here’s how this plan sets you up for success:

✅ Swim-Ready Confidence: With technique-focused swim sessions, endurance sets, and open water-specific prep, you'll be ready to glide through the calm, protected turquoise waters of the southeast island loop with ease and confidence.

✅ Bike Power & Climbing Strength: The 96KM bike course includes two fast loops along the smooth island ring road and challenging climbs reaching 100m above sea level. This plan builds your climbing legs with targeted strength training, aerobic base rides, threshold intervals, and anaerobic power workouts—giving you the muscle and stamina to thrive on those inter-connecting roads.

✅ Run Endurance & Rhythm: The flat 21.1KM run course demands pacing, mental grit, and the ability to surge with the crowd's energy. With long runs, tempo intervals, and race-pace brick workouts, you’ll be primed to hold a steady pace and maximize performance through multiple loops of the vibrant race village.

✅ No Base Fitness? No Problem!
Start strong with a 12-week base phase—ideal for athletes returning to training or building from scratch.

✅ Structured 3/1 Progression: Train hard, recover smart. Our 32-week main program follows a proven 3-weeks-on, 1-week-recovery rhythm to minimize burnout and optimize gains.

✅ Gradual Build-Up: Training volume increases from 9.5 to 14 hours per week, ensuring you’re race-ready without risking injury or fatigue.

✅ Strength Training Integration: Includes functional strength and conventional lifting blocks for enhanced durability, power, and injury prevention.
