Train Smart, Race Strong: Prepare for the Half Distance Triathlon on Sir Bani Yas Island, Abu Dhabi

Get ready to conquer the stunning and challenging Sir Bani Yas Island Half Distance Triathlon with a training plan designed specifically for Masters triathletes over 40. This 24-week program doesn’t just get you to the start line—it prepares you to race confidently across one of the most unique courses in the Middle East.

Who This Plan Is For
This plan is ideal for athletes who have experience with Sprint and Olympic triathlons and are prepared to take on the demands of the Half Distance (70.3) format. You should be able to:

Swim: 1,500 meters without difficulty

Bike: 30 miles with sustained effort

Run: At least 5 miles comfortably

All with traffic-free training simulations that mimic race-day conditions.

🏃 Run – 21.1KM Flat, Fast & Coastal
Expect frequent brick sessions and progressive long runs that sharpen pacing and endurance for the multiple-loop run through the race village—where crowd energy and hydration access are key. This plan trains you to maintain focus, cadence, and hydration across a dynamic, spectator-filled route.
