Training for the Half Distance Triathlon in Florida means preparing for a warm freshwater swim, a mostly flat bike ride with rolling hills, and a fast, flat run—all under Florida’s heat and humidity. This 36-week Half Distance Triathlon training plan for senior athletes 60+ is built to prepare you for exactly that. Every phase of this program supports smart endurance development, functional strength, and efficient race-day execution—so you can train smart, maintain strength, and race with confidence.

Video-based swim drills build stroke efficiency and endurance, ideal for the single-loop swim with temperatures in the 75–80°F range.

✅ Bike-Ready for Florida’s Fast, Rolling Terrain
Structured power- and heart-rate-based bike workouts develop sustainable speed and stamina for the 56-mile course through Polk County’s rolling hills.

✅ Run Strong in the Heat
Progressive brick workouts and heat-adaptation strategies prepare you for the fast and flat 13.1-mile run through Lake Eva Park and neighborhoods—where pacing and hydration are critical.

Gently reintroduces training, focusing on joint mobility, aerobic health, and muscular endurance—perfect for athletes returning from time off.
