This 36-week Half Distance Triathlon training plan is purpose-built for Masters athletes 40+ preparing for the unique demands of the Florida Half Distance Triathlon in Lake Eva. With its warm freshwater swim, flat-to-rolling bike terrain, and fast neighborhood run course, your success hinges on pacing, heat management, and consistent endurance. This plan prepares you to thrive on every leg of race day.

✅ Swim-Ready for Lake Eva
The calm, single-loop swim in Lake Eva (75–80°F) demands strong, sustained aerobic output. Our plan develops open-water confidence and endurance with integrated swim sessions and device-accessible video drills—perfect for recreating race conditions and building comfort in similar water temps.

✅ Bike Power for Florida Heat
The mostly flat 56-mile ride with rolling hills in Polk County requires steady power and heat management. Structured heart rate and power-based workouts improve your ability to hold pace and handle surges without burnout. Strategic long rides simulate the Florida bike course so you arrive confident and race-prepped.

✅ Fast, Flat Run Execution
The 13.1-mile run through Lake Eva Park and surrounding neighborhoods is fast, but Florida humidity can be unforgiving. This plan trains you to stay cool under pressure with VO2 max intervals, brick sessions, and heat-adaptation strategies built into peak-phase training. Learn to pace, fuel, and hydrate effectively when it counts most.
