This 6-month Half Distance Triathlon Training Plan is specifically built for Masters athletes over 40 who are ready to train smarter, go faster, and race stronger. If you’re currently fit enough to finish a Sprint or Olympic triathlon and are ready to level up—this plan is your next step.

Racing the Half Distance Triathlon at Costa Navarino means swimming in crystal-clear waters, biking through olive groves and pine forests, and running along the picturesque Gialova coastline. To meet the demands of this beautiful but challenging course, your preparation needs to be just as focused and well-structured.

✅ Open Water Swim Confidence
Train with structured swim workouts and technique drills that prepare you for the single-loop, clear-water swim in calm Mediterranean conditions. Build the endurance and control needed for a smooth, one-turn 1.9K swim start.

✅ Power Through the Scenic Bike Course
The two-loop, 90K ride features rolling terrain and breathtaking views—perfect for a well-paced effort. This plan includes power-based intervals and aerobic builds that mimic the terrain of Messinia’s olive-lined roads and help you sustain speed and strength.

Gialova’s beachfront and lagoon-side paths are flat but exposed. You'll train with progressive brick workouts and race-pace intervals to prepare for a strong 21.1K run finish—no matter the heat or conditions.
