Being 60 or older and preparing for the Half Distance Triathlon in Waco, Texas, you know you're not just racing—you're proving what's possible. This 36-week triathlon training plan is designed specifically for senior athletes like you who want to stay strong, avoid injury, and arrive at the starting line prepared and confident.

The Waco swim starts with excitement—a shotgun start into a 1.2-mile downriver course with cool, calm waters. Our plan helps you reestablish swimming comfort and efficiency with gentle video-based drills that build skill and confidence, whether you’re returning after a break or continuing your triathlon journey.

🚴 Build Strength for the Texas Ride
Waco’s scenic 56-mile bike course offers rolling hills and fast, flat sections. You’ll prepare with age-smart interval and threshold training, designed to build strength, stamina, and confidence in your pacing. You’ll be ready to enjoy the ride and hold your own across the course.

🏃 Finish the Run Strong Along the Brazos
The 13.1-mile run follows a beautiful riverside trail and finishes across the iconic Waco Suspension Bridge. You’ll train for this moment with brick workouts, aerobic endurance runs, and joint-friendly strength sessions, helping you move smoothly and finish proud—no matter your pace.
