This training plan is for a Half Distance or 70.3 distance triathlon. Athlete should have some basic fitness behind them and be able to swim comfortably for 500m in a pool. A large portion of the training in this plan is time based, meaning there is a lot less pressure on the athlete to be covering a certain amount of distance in training sessions, but instead the athlete is to spend "time" on their feet. This will help them get a better feel for intensities and help an intermediate athlete get ready for a 70.3 Ironman Triathlon.
The goal of this training plan is to build consistency in your training, but with the limited time and plan only running for 10 weeks, the plan starts with 6 training days from the first week. The biggest training week of this plan is just over 9 hours, and most days consist of only one training session. The weekends are where the training plan add extra training sessions including brick sessions and a race simulation on week 8 of the training plan.
