Conquer the Half Distance Triathlon Brasília with Our 44-Week Beginner Training Plan

Set against the vibrant sports culture of Brazil’s capital, the Half Distance Triathlon Brasília promises fast racing and unforgettable experiences. You'll swim 1.9 km in the calm waters of Lake Paranoá (76°F / 24°C), ride 90 km over two smooth laps along Brasília’s iconic wide avenues, and run 21.1 km through a beautiful, tree-lined park (race day highs near 82°F / 28°C).

Our 44-Week Beginner Training Plan is designed to make sure you’re ready for everything Brasília throws your way—no matter your starting point.

Forget boring base mileage and outdated approaches.
We begin with a 12-week targeted base phase focused on building your strength, conditioning, and endurance—all critical for tackling the warm waters, flat but fast bike course, and the steady run through the city’s green heart.

From Week 13 onward, you’ll enter a 32-week structured Half Distance Triathlon training plan. You'll start with manageable 9.5-hour training weeks and steadily progress to 14 hours per week by the peak of your build. Every session is carefully designed to fit the demands of the Half Distance Triathlon Brasília:

✅ Swim drills to perfect your open water technique for Lake Paranoá’s calm surface.
✅ Bike intervals structured around heart rate and RPE to handle Brasília’s flat, fast roads.
✅ Run sessions built to prepare you for maintaining strong, even pacing through the shaded park loops.
✅ Strength training to build resilience and power—critical for the hotter Brazilian race conditions.
✅ V02 intervals and anaerobic threshold work to push your speed, endurance, and race-day toughness.
