36-Week Beginner Program for Race-Day Success

Set in Brazil’s vibrant capital, the Half Distance Triathlon Brasília offers the perfect blend of scenic beauty and competitive spirit. From the calm waters of Lake Paranoá to the fast, wide avenues and tree-lined parks, this race is a true test of endurance, focus, and preparation. Our 36-week beginner training plan is designed to guide you every step of the way so you can cross the finish line feeling strong, confident, and accomplished.

Whether you're new to triathlon or seeking a structured path to success, this plan meets you where you are — no previous racing experience or minimum fitness required. All you need is the drive to challenge yourself.

You’ll begin with a 12-week foundational phase, building essential strength, aerobic endurance, and swim efficiency. Guided swim drills, paired with video instruction, will help you glide through Lake Paranoá’s flat waters with ease. Structured bike and run sessions based on perceived exertion (RPE) and heart rate teach you to pace smartly — a critical skill for navigating Brasília’s fast bike course and flat run through lush park scenery.

The 24-week race-specific phase ramps up gradually, starting with seven training hours per week and progressing to a peak of twelve. You'll master open-water techniques, tempo sessions, endurance blocks, and essential brick workouts that simulate race-day transitions. Our plan also includes strength training, with video demonstrations to ensure perfect form, helping you stay injury-free and improve efficiency across all three disciplines.
