The Half Distance Triathlon Acapulco is as stunning as it is demanding—featuring a warm open-water swim, a hilly and technical bike course, and a hot, flat run. To help you conquer it with confidence, this 36-week advanced Half Distance Triathlon training plan has been expertly crafted to match the race’s exact conditions and challenges.

✅ Specific to Acapulco’s Race Demands
Train for the 1.9 km swim in 84°F waters by mastering open-water swim technique, pacing, and sighting—so you're ready to tackle Playa Majahua with confidence.
✅ Crush the Climb, Ride the Descent
With a 600-meter climb at the start and a total 1,600 meters of elevation gain, this bike course demands climbing strength and downhill control. The plan features climbing accelerations, anaerobic power intervals, and descending simulation rides to sharpen your strength and skills.
✅ Stay Strong on the Hot Run
With the run in 88°F heat, hydration and heat tolerance are critical. Your plan includes heat-adaptation strategies, tempo efforts, and interval work on flat terrain to simulate Acapulco’s fast run course on Av de las Palmas.
