Preparing for the Half Distance Triathlon in Valdivia means mastering a unique course—clear, cool river waters, a fast countryside bike ride with short, steep climbs, and a flat scenic run across Valdivia’s iconic bridges. Our 44-week Beginner Half Distance Triathlon Training Plan is custom-built to prepare you for these exact race-day conditions—with a smart, progressive structure and personalized email coach support.

Here’s how this plan sets you up for success in Valdivia:

✅ Crystal-Clear Calle-Calle Swim? You’ll Be Ready.
With 12 weeks of focused swim technique work and video-based drills, you’ll build open-water confidence and efficiency for the 1.9 km point-to-point swim in cool (14°C) waters—wetsuit required, no problem.

✅ Crush the Countryside Ride.
You’ll develop sustained power and smart pacing on a flat, fast 90 km bike course with short, steep climbs. RPE and heart rate-based sessions build strength and endurance, preparing you to maintain speed through green meadows and over the rolling Valdivian terrain.

✅ Finish Strong in the Heart of the City.
Your legs will be primed for the flat, fast 21.1 km run through Saval Park and across the CauCau and Calle-Calle bridges. Interval and anaerobic threshold sessions boost stamina so you can surge through the final stretch along the river.
