Racing the Half Distance Triathlon in Valdivia means navigating a stunning point-to-point river swim, fast but undulating countryside bike segments, and a scenic, flat run through the heart of the city. Our Six-Month Half Distance Triathlon Training Plan is specifically designed to prepare you for the unique demands of this course — with personalized coaching support to keep you focused and confident every step of the way.
Before beginning it's essential to establish a strong foundation of six to eight weeks of aerobic base across all three disciplines.

The plan includes structured open-water swim simulations and gear acclimation sessions to prepare you for the 58°F Calle-Calle River. You’ll build strength, navigation skills, and cold-water tolerance to handle the wetsuit-required swim with confidence.
