Training for the Half Distance Triathlon in Augusta, Georgia means preparing for a fast river swim, a rolling bike course with 2,000 ft of elevation, and a mostly shaded, scenic run across state lines. Our 44-week Half Distance Triathlon Beginner Training Plan is specifically designed to help first-time athletes conquer every element of this unique course—without the guesswork.

✅ Built for Beginners – No prior long-course experience needed. Start with our 12-week Half Distance base phase focused on strength, endurance, and conditioning to build the foundation you need.
✅ Savannah River Swim-Ready – Smooth swim technique sessions and video-based drills get you confident in current-assisted open water, helping you take full advantage of Augusta’s downstream swim.
✅ Bike-Strong for Rolling Hills – Our structured RPE/Heart Rate-guided bike workouts prepare you to tackle long climbs, descend with control, and power through the flat sections of Georgia backroads.
✅ Run Smart in the Heat – With over 9 miles of shaded greenway trail and some rolling terrain, the Augusta run course demands controlled pacing. Our progressive run sessions build aerobic efficiency and leg durability while teaching you to manage heart rate and hydration over 13.1 miles.
✅ Strength You Can Feel – Functional strength workouts tailored to beginners improve injury resistance and power transfer across all three disciplines.
