That’s why we created the Beginner's Six-Month Half Distance Triathlon Training Plan—to guide you from a solid fitness base to race day success, with confidence and joy.

🌟 First things first: This plan is designed for beginners, but it does require that you have a consistent fitness routine (at least 4–6 weeks of aerobic base training) before getting started. If you can comfortably swim, bike, and run for short periods each week, you're ready to begin this incredible journey.

Here’s how this training plan prepares you to take on Weymouth’s unforgettable course:

🏊 Swim – 1.9 km in Weymouth Bay
You’ll develop confidence in the open water through progressive technique sessions, video-guided drills, and sighting practice—so you feel strong from your first stroke to the last in the calm, cool bay waters.

🚴 Bike – 90 km of rolling hills through Dorset
Our plan gradually builds your endurance and strength with interval rides/repeats, and long sessions that simulate the scenic and slightly demanding terrain you’ll face in King’s Stag and Dorchester. By race day, you’ll be ready to conquer every climb.

🏃 Run – 21.1 km along Weymouth’s iconic esplanade
Brick workouts help your legs transition smoothly from bike to run, while tempo and endurance runs build the stamina you’ll need to carry you along the stunning coastal path, loop after loop.
