This advanced 44-week Half Distance Triathlon training plan is designed to prepare you comprehensively for the unique demands of the Calgary course.

🏊‍♂️ Swim Preparation
The plan emphasizes swim technique and endurance to help you confidently handle the two-loop 1.2-mile swim in Lake Harmony. Training at similar intensities and durations reduces fatigue and improves efficiency in water temperatures around 70°F, where wetsuits are typically worn.

🚴‍♂️ Bike Endurance and Power
The 56-mile bike course features rolling hills and wind exposure, so the plan integrates progressive endurance rides and interval workouts focused on climbing and power output. This prepares you to maintain strong pacing through Calgary’s eastern foothills and manage the two-loop rural road course effectively.

🏃‍♂️ Run Stamina and Speed
With a run composed of three out-and-back loops totaling 13.1 miles, the training plan develops your aerobic base and threshold running through structured intervals and long runs.
