Athletes begin with a 1.2-mile swim featuring a rolling start from the Kelleys Island Ferry into Sandusky Bay (avg. water temp: 78°F), finishing at the Paper District Marina. The 56-mile bike segment is a fast, flat, single-loop course through Erie and Sandusky Counties with just 790 feet of elevation—perfect for controlled pacing and smooth cadence. The 13.1-mile run consists of two flat loops through downtown Sandusky (avg. air temp: 88°F), offering great spectator support and minimal elevation.
