The Half Distance Triathlon in Swansea, Wales, delivers an incredible race set against the backdrop of Swansea Bay, the Gower Peninsula, and the vibrant seaside village of Mumbles. Known for its natural beauty and legendary Welsh support, this race is perfect for athletes seeking a challenging course in a breathtaking location.
Key Highlights:
SWIM: The race begins with a 1.2-mile (1.9 km) one-loop swim in the Prince of Wales Dock. Athletes can expect calm waters with an average temperature of 60°F (16°C).
BIKE: The 56-mile (90 km) hilly bike course is a highlight of the event. Cyclists will ride along the scenic roads of Mumbles, hugging the coastal cliffs of the Gower Peninsula before venturing through rural Swansea. Riders then return to the city with stunning views of Swansea Bay.
RUN: The 13.1-mile (21.1 km) run course is a two-loop route that takes competitors from Swansea’s city center, past the eye-catching Swansea Arena, and out towards Mumbles before circling back to the Marina for an unforgettable finish. Expect an average race day temperature of 66°F (19°C).
