Racing the Half Distance Triathlon Rockford is a true test of endurance, strategy, and preparation. With its scenic but demanding swim in the Rock River, a 56-mile ride through rolling farmland, and a two-loop run along the city’s riverbanks, this course challenges even seasoned athletes. That’s exactly why our 44-week Advanced Half Distance Triathlon Training Plan is built to give you every edge—physically, mentally, and strategically.

Start with a 12-week base phase designed for athletes who may not yet have consistent training under their belt. Whether you're returning to racing or stepping up in distance, this phase sets the stage with smart, progressive conditioning.

Dive into a structured training cycle focused on the Half Distance Triathlon. You'll follow a 3:1 schedule (three build weeks, one recovery week), targeting the right energy systems at the right times—so you peak at just the right moment for race day in Rockford.
