Get race-ready for the breathtaking Half Distance Triathlon Aix-en-Provence with a training plan built to match the demands of this unique course. From the crystal-clear waters of Lake Peyrolles to the rolling climbs around Montagne Sainte-Victoire and the vibrant run through historic Aix-en-Provence, this course is equal parts beautiful and brutal—and it rewards athletes who prepare with purpose.

Our 36-Week Advanced Training Plan is tailored specifically for amateur advanced triathletes targeting this stunning event. It begins with a strong 12-week foundation phase to build durability, followed by 24 weeks of strategic endurance, strength, and race-specific preparation.

Training is structured on a proven 3:1 cycle—three weeks of focused work followed by one week of recovery—helping you avoid burnout while maximizing gains. Weekly training volume begins at 9.5 hours and peaks at 14.5 hours, with every session designed to help you perform at your best on race day.

This plan prepares you for:

A 1.9 km lake swim with technique-focused swim sessions that build comfort and efficiency in cooler open water.

A challenging 90 km bike course with over 1,000 meters of climbing—tackled with climbing-specific intervals, VO2 max sessions, and technical power training to sharpen your edge.

A dynamic 21.1 km run through Aix, supported by aerobic base training, anaerobic threshold workouts, and structured brick sessions to simulate race day fatigue.

From functional strength training in the early weeks to power sprint intervals and ATP-PC development as you peak, every detail is aligned with the terrain and tempo of the Aix-en-Provence race.
