Are you ready to take on the stunning challenge of the Half Distance Triathlon Aix-en-Provence? From the crystal-clear waters of Lake Peyrolles to the rolling hills of Provence and the vibrant streets of Aix, this race demands not just passion—but precision, endurance, and a smart training strategy.

Our Six-Month Intermediate Half Distance Triathlon Plan is designed to give you a competitive edge on this breathtaking yet demanding course. Whether you're racing to beat a personal best or simply to finish strong, this program will take you there.

🏊‍♂️ Swim with Confidence
Train to thrive in the open-water conditions of Lake Peyrolles, where temperatures average a cool 64°F (18°C). You’ll develop the endurance and sighting skills necessary for a smooth 1.9 km (1.2 mile) swim.

🚴‍♀️ Climb and Cruise Like a Pro
Prepare for the technical and scenic 90 km (56 mile) bike course with 1077 meters of elevation gain. Our plan includes interval rides, hill repeats, and long rides that mirror the terrain around Mountain Sainte-Victoire—giving you the strength and control to handle every twist and turn, even in the wind (disc wheels not allowed!).

🏃‍♂️ Run Strong to the Finish
The 21.1 km (13.1 mile) run through Aix and Parc de la Torse demands stamina and mental focus. Our three-phase run training—base, build, and peak—guides you to crush those final loops and finish under the roar of the crowd at La Rotonde.

📅 Structured, Smart Training
Start with 8 hours of focused training per week and progress to 12 hours, all while balancing life and avoiding burnout. This plan builds your endurance, introduces race-specific tempo work, and integrates swim technique, bike strength, and VO2/threshold run sessions.
