Are you ready to conquer the Half Distance Triathlon Gulf Coast? This iconic event unfolds on the stunning shores of Panama City Beach, where crystal-clear Gulf waters meet a fast, flat bike course and a spectator-friendly run through vibrant coastal scenery. With its unique combination of beauty and challenge, this race demands more than generic training—it requires a plan tailored to its terrain, conditions, and climate.

🌊 Swim with Confidence:
The Gulf Coast swim is breathtaking—but not without challenges. Clear water, yes. But also potential currents, shifting tides, and marine life. Our training plan prepares you with targeted open-water swim sets, designed to simulate conditions you'll face on race day, including clockwise navigation and sighting practice to help you stay on course and calm under pressure.

🚴 Dominate the Bike Course:
Speed meets strategy on this flat, fast 56-mile ride. You’ll power through the intercoastal stretches and into Pine Log State Forest. Our plan includes progressive long rides, tempo intervals in the aerobars, and simulation days to prep you for those sneaky rolling hills and coastal winds on the return.

🏃 Crush the Coastal Run:
The three-lap, 13.1-mile run is one of the flattest on the circuit—ideal for pacing and spectators. With coastal temperatures starting in the 50s and rising to the 70s, our program includes heat-adaptation strategies and structured brick workouts to build run durability off the bike.

📅 The Plan in Action:
This six-month Half Distance Triathlon training plan begins with 8 hours of training per week, gradually progressing to 12. You'll build a rock-solid endurance base, integrate tempo and VO2 interval sessions, and execute high-quality threshold workouts that sharpen speed and stamina.
