Get race-ready for the stunning Half Distance Triathlon in Valencia, Spain—a course that blends fast flats, scenic climbs, and cultural landmarks in one unforgettable experience. Whether you're a first-timer or returning to the sport, our 36-week beginner plan is designed to prepare you physically, mentally, and strategically to conquer every kilometer.

Why This Plan Works for Valencia:
Valencia's course is dynamic, and our training plan mirrors that challenge. You'll start with a 12-week base phase focused on building aerobic endurance, fundamental strength, and proper swim mechanics—ideal for the calm but slightly cool waters of the Marina de Valencia. Swimming drills, complete with expert video guidance, ensure you’re efficient and confident in open water between 16°C and 18°C.

As you enter the 24-week build and peak phases, the sessions evolve to target race-specific fitness. Valencia's bike course features 800 meters of elevation through the scenic Sierra Calderona—so we’ve included hill work, long aerobic rides, and race-pace intervals to prepare your legs for both speed and strength. Structured sessions based on RPE and heart rate help you train smart and avoid burnout.

Running through the Túria River path in the final leg, you'll need both pacing discipline and endurance. Our progressive long runs, tempo efforts, and brick workouts replicate real-race fatigue so you’ll finish strong, no matter how the day unfolds.
