Are you ready to conquer the Half Distance Campeche Triathlon? With its scenic course, warm waters, and challenging terrain, this race demands peak performance. Our 36-Week Advanced Training Plan is designed specifically for athletes like you, helping you build the strength, endurance, and skills needed to crush your race day goals.
What’s Inside the Training Plan?
Our training plan begins with a 12-week foundational phase that sets the stage for success, followed by a 24-week Half IRON-specific regimen. With a 3/1 workout pattern (3 weeks of intense training followed by 1 week of active recovery), you’ll progressively build up your fitness and race-ready endurance.
Key Features of the Plan:
🏋️♂️ Functional Strength Training: Early in the program, we focus on building a strong, injury-resistant foundation, which will enhance your performance across all three disciplines.
🏊♂️ Swim Focus: Perfect your swim technique to handle the warm 82°F (28°C) waters of Bonita Beach. Refined stroke mechanics will make your swim more efficient, saving valuable energy for the bike and run.
🚴 Endurance and Aerobic Capacity: Long, steady training sessions will increase your aerobic endurance, critical for the 56-mile (90 km) bike and 13.1-mile (21.1 km) run courses.
Race-Specific Training:
💨 V02 Max and Anaerobic Threshold: Improve your aerobic capacity and threshold, enabling you to sustain high-intensity efforts during the bike and run, especially during those fast-paced, spectator-friendly segments along Malecon Avenue and the Marine Fountains.
⚡ Power and Sprint Intervals: Boost your sprint capabilities with ATP-PC power training, helping you surge during key moments of the bike or run.
⛰️ Climbing and Intervals: Enhance your ability to tackle both flat and rolling terrain on the bike course, ensuring you’re ready for every twist and turn.
