Conquer the Half Distance Puerto Rico Triathlon – With Confidence

Ready to race through the vibrant streets of Old San Juan, conquer the rolling coastal roads to Dorado, and glide through the warm waters of Condado Lagoon? Whether you're dreaming of your first Half Distance finish or looking to take on Puerto Rico’s unforgettable course, this training plan is designed to get you to the start line confident, strong, and prepared.

✅ Built for Beginners
This 6-month plan was created specifically for first-time half-distance triathletes. If you’ve built up a 4–6 week aerobic base, you’re ready to begin. Starting at just 7 hours per week and building to a peak of 12 hours, it’s structured to match your fitness level while gently progressing your volume and intensity.

From base building to race sharpening, you’ll be guided through key training phases. You’ll incorporate:

VO2 Intervals

Anaerobic Threshold Workouts

Tempo Sessions
All designed to help you tackle Puerto Rico’s heat, hills, and fast sections with ease.

Technique-focused swim workouts, structured bike and run sessions based on RPE and Heart Rate, and video-led strength sessions help you build endurance, speed, and race-day resilience. You’ll even prepare for open water, making that Condado Lagoon swim feel second nature.
