Plan Description
HALF DIST Austria in Zell AM See-Kaprun a breathtakingly beautiful race that takes you on a journey through some of Austria's most stunning scenery, all while challenging you to push your limits and achieve your athletic goals.
Let's start with the swim. You'll be diving into the crystal-clear waters of Lake Zell, where you'll have a chance to take in the stunning mountain views before diving into the challenge of a 1.9-km swim. The lake can be a bit chilly, so pack your wetsuit and be prepared for a refreshing wake-up call!
Next up, it's time to tackle the bike course. This 90km ride takes you through some of the most picturesque villages in the region, with plenty of challenging climbs to keep you on your toes. The course takes you through stunning forests and pastures, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains at every turn.
Finally, it's time to hit the pavement for the 21.1-km run. The course takes you along the lakefront promenade, through the historic streets of Zell am See, and into the heart of Kaprun. There are a few hills to contend with, but the stunning views of the surrounding peaks will help keep you motivated all the way to the finish line.
As for the weather, you can expect mild temperatures in the summer months, with average highs in the mid-70sยฐF (mid-20sยฐC). However, as with any race in the mountains, weather conditions can change quickly and unexpectedly. Be prepared for anything from sunshine to rain to chilly winds, and make sure to pack layers and rain gear just in case.
