Plan Description

Beginner Muncie Half Distance Triathlon Training Plan. 25 weeks.

This plan is perfect for the self-guided triathlete looking for a blue print to successfully complete their first Half Distance Triathlon in Muncie, Indiana.

This Muncie Half Distance Triathlon Plan is ideal for the beginner triathlete looking to finish their FIRST 70.3 Half Ironman triathlon. By selecting this plan you will feel both physically and mentally prepared to successfully complete your Half Distance Triathlon. This plan provides a gradual progression of volume and intensity spread throughout this 24 week plan.

You will begin with just over 3 hours on the first week and gradually build volume from there. This plan is perfect for athletes who currently training 1-3 hours a week, but looking to get into form by their Half Distance Triathlon race day.

3 rides
3 runs
1 rest day

This training plan works great with all TrainingPeaks compatible smart watches. Athletes can decide to use Heart Rate or Rate of Perceived Effort with this plan based on its programming. This training plan focuses on building your aerobic capacity by focusing heavily on Zone 2 (easy to moderate intensity).
Upon completion of this training plan an athlete will be able to swim of 1.2 miles, bike 56 miles, and run 13.1 miles!

This plan, when successfully completed,has led to now over 250 BEGINNER triathletes completing their first Half Distance Triathlon.
