Plan Description
In a Backyard Ultra, speed doesn't win—resilience does. You don't need to be the fastest; you just need to be the one who breaks last. This program is built entirely around durability and the ability to "restart" under fatigue.
THE DURABILITY ARC:
PHASE 1: Weeks 1-4 (Structural Adaptation) – Building the endurance of tendons and ligaments.
PHASE 2: Weeks 5-8 (Max Strength) – Hardening the quads and glutes for repetitive loops and climbs.
PHASE 3: Weeks 9-12 (Power & Taper) – Refining the "inter-lap" recovery and maintaining muscle tension.
INCLUDED IN THE PLAN:
Loop-Specific Training: Workouts designed to simulate the "start-stop" nature of the event.
Strength for Durability: 2 days/week of text-based strength focusing on isometric stability.
