Plan Description

- 20 week plan focused on Run Woodstock 100km Trail Ultra 2024
- Athlete should have a base of 3 training runs per week, of minimum distance of 6+ miles (and able to run 14-15 mile long runs).
- Plan starts with 3 training runs per week and progresses to 5, and also includes strength/mobility workouts and cross-training for injury prevention.
- This is a periodized plan with phases: Foundation, Metabolic Conditioning, Specificity, Peak and Taper.
- Most workouts are time-based (not distance) and use HR targets. Highly suggested that athlete has a HR monitor device (Garmin, Suunto or similar) & pair it to Training Peaks account. Early workouts will include Max HR and Threshold tests; this data should also be entered in Athlete's TP profile.
- Suggested cross-training are biking, swimming, or rowing (not elliptical).
- Speed workouts can be done on a track or treadmill.
