Plan Description
Designed for the intermediate Trail Runner with a short time frame due to an extended time off running.
Commences quite conservatively and builds volume with a few speed/intensity sessions to improve overall conditioning for a 50km Trail Race.
Longest trail runs within the program are 1 x 5 hour and 1 x 6 hour.
The program is based around Rate of perceived exertion (RPE) due to the variability of trail running:
1 - Very light
2-3 - Light
4-6 - Moderate
7-8 - Vigorous
9 - Very hard
10 - Maximal effort
Clearance from a physician or doctor is required to ensure you are safe to conduct this type of program.
