Plan Description

Welcome to the Ultimate Ultramarathon Training Program (UUTP). The UUTP is more than just a training plan, it’s an all-inclusive programme. You are going to receive resources and learning material to ensure you are able to train, compete and complete any ultramarathon to the best of your abilities.

The UUTP is made up of eight training phases. What is a training phase? A training phase is a four-week training cycle that is specific to developing a specific area(s) of your fitness.
Regardless of when your next ultramarathon is taking place, you’ll be able to mix and match the different training phases to suit your needs.

Let’s get your training underway by selecting your first training phase and setting your thresholds.
Your first week of training is going to be “testing week”. The testing week will help you set your training zones to ensure you’re always training at the most effective intensity.
Following testing week, you’ll begin your first phase one of training.

Do I have to be good?
No, not at all. The course is designed to teach you how to train and race effectively. Whether you’re a newbie wanting to complete or an elite wanting to stand on the podium, you’ll be able to put the information you receive to use.

What distance ultra is this programme for?
The programme will cater to any ultra that takes less than two days (48hrs).

I’ve done an ultra before, will I get anything out of the programme?
Yes, the programme will provide educational resources for you to apply to your training and racing. The resources will be helpful for new and seasoned athletes.

Will I get a training plan?
Yes, you'll get a structured 35 week plan, which will be made up of six 4-week training phases (Plus 11 bonus weeks). You’ll learn how to apply and adjust these phases to your training plan based on your ability and when your races are. You can also leave the plan as it, and work your way thought it.

What do I need?
An internet connection and GPS watch with a heart rate monitor. The programme will be delivered online.

I already have a trainingpeaks account, can I used my existing account?
Yes.


Will this programme make me faster?
That’s the plan! The programme will provide you with all the necessary information you need to train effectively and efficiently to minimise mistakes.

My ultramarathon doesn't align exactly with the plan. Does that matter?
Not at all. In fact, you will find more value in the programme having completed an ultramarathon because you’ll have a relevant performance to apply the resources.
