Train with, not against, your menstrual cycle!
Do you find that during the different phases of your menstrual cycle you sometimes feel sluggish and other times full of energy?
Then this plan is just right for you.
Studies show that not all women respond in the same way to cycle-based training. For some, there are no differences in VO₂ max or strength performance. Others react strongly, depending on the phase of their cycle.
The plan is designed for a 28-day cycle. If your cycle is shorter, simply start the new cycle again on Day 1 of the following week (cut and paste the following 4 cycle weeks – just 2 clicks).
If your cycle is longer, you can squeeze in some short, easy training sessions in between and also cut out the following 4 weeks of the cycle and paste them onto Day 1 of the cycle.
Hard facts:
Who is this plan for: Experienced trailrunning women with at least 5-6h weekly volume in the past 4-6 months.
For what phase of the year: Base phase and first half of build phase.
There will be a plan for the second half of the build phase and peak phase.
Give it a go and see if you’re a cycle-sensitive runner too!
