Plan Description
This 8-week running program is designed to help you stay consistent between events, rebuild fitness after injury or time off, or establish a strong aerobic foundation if you’re returning to running.
Whether you’re maintaining momentum or starting fresh, this training block focuses on building durable aerobic conditioning and improving movement quality — without the stress of high-intensity interval sessions.

What This Program Focuses On
• Developing and maintaining your aerobic base
• Improving running drills and technical skills
• Enhancing movement efficiency and mechanics
• Supporting recovery with mobility sessions and guided Pilates routines
• Building strength and power through structured strength training
There are no hard interval sessions in this phase. The emphasis is on consistent, controlled aerobic running to create long-term progress and resilience.

Weekly Structure
• Long runs start at 60 minutes and gradually build to 90–100 minutes
(Adjust duration based on your experience and fitness level.)
• Midweek runs are generally under 60 minutes
Designed to keep you active without excessive fatigue.
• Runs are programmed for up to 7 days per week for those who enjoy daily movement or benefit from regular headspace.
If you’re currently running 2–4 times per week, simply adapt the plan and prioritise the sessions that best support your development.

Benchmarking & Progress Tracking
To help you monitor improvement and set accurate training zones, the program includes:
• 2 × 5km time trials
• 1 × 10km time trial
These benchmarks allow you to track race pace and measure aerobic development across the 8 weeks.

You’ll complete:
• 2 structured strength sessions per week
These sessions are designed to help you run longer, move more efficiently, and reduce injury risk by developing strength and power.
