Plan Description
This 20-week strength training plan works best as a plug-in to accommodate your run training.
Add these sessions in once a week for a in-season stimulus that will make you stronger, more explosive and improve your running economy.
This plan based on the work of Beattie et al. (2017) on strength training for distance runners.
We recommend this for experienced athletes only. If this is your first time incorporating concurrent strength and endurance training or your first time doing this type of strength training, we suggest using two days per week (just the way this is planned) just for strength training and doing endurance training on the other days.
