This strength training plan is geared toward those runners that are familiar with the weight room and have experience and proficiency in compound movements including squat and deadlift variations and some Olympic style lifts. The program is broken into 3 cycles that include a foundational base and volume phase, a strength phase and a power phase that varies between 3 and 4 days per week. All of these workouts should take between an hour to hour and a half including the warmup.
These workouts are intended to be a complimentary program to a running training plan that focuses on performance.
