Plan Description

The intention of this plan is to help any runner set a personal best in the 1 mile (1600 meters) and run under 8 minutes.

One of the best and FASTEST ways to drop your time is to simply run more, and run more at an easy pace.

Before starting this plan, you should be able to run at least 10-15 miles a week and your easy pace should be anywhere between 8:00/mile and 9:30/mile.

This plan consists of a minimum of 4 runs per week. There are optional days to add in miles, cross-train or rest. I understand not everyone has the time to commit to 5, 6 or 7 days a week, so this is designed to get you there in the most efficient way possible. The nice part about this plan is it could be set up as multiple training cycles: depending where your fitness is before starting, you could do this once through, time trial at week 8, and then restart the 8 weeks again.

The most important component of this plan is consistency.
